Air Transat Flight 236 was an Airbus A330 that experienced complete engine failure over the Atlantic Ocean on August 24, 2001, due to a fuel leak. The pilots successfully glided the aircraft for about 75 miles, landing safely in the Azores with no fatalities. This incident is renowned for the longest glide of a commercial jet in aviation history
