Lebanon blast | Simpsons Predicted Explosion In Beirut 2020. After blast videos in Beirut in Lebanon Social media is claiming that The Simpsons predicted the Beirut explosion in Lebanon but did the long-running cartoon really predict the event?
In August 2020, social media is convinced that The Simpsons has done it again by supposedly predicting the horrifying explosion that took place in Beirut in Lebanon on August 4th.
However, there’s more to this prediction than first meets the eye.
SOCIAL MEDIA CLAIMS THE SIMPSON PREDICTED BEIRUT EXPLOSION
The claim that The Simpsons predicted the Beirut explosion stems from a video which has emerged online, showing Homer Simpson lighting a firework and it causing an explosion similar to that seen in Beirut.
One version of the video on Twitter has been viewed thousands of times and has left plenty of social media users and news outlets around the world convinced that the Lebanon explosion was predicted by the simpsons cartoon.
That’s right, the video which has emerged online of the supposed Lebanon prediction is not a true prediction at all.
Instead, the video has been edited together using clips from two completely different episodes.
The scene of Homer buying and lighting the M-320 firework is from season 7, episode 25 while the mushroom cloud explosion comes from season 16’s Treehouse of Horror episode where Homer causes the Springfield Nuclear plant to explode.
