Deutsche Grammophon and its peerless family of artists have responded with speed and ingenuity to today’s challenge of presenting live performances. Together they have created “Moment Musical”, a series of professional live streams and delayed relays of concerts that was launched on 27 March at Berlin’s legendary Meistersaal. The initiative has then expanded to the city’s Pierre Boulez Saal, with recitals given by Daniel Barenboim and chamber music partners.

In this episode listen to Daniel Barenboim and the Berlin Staatskapelle String Quartet perform works by Robert Schumann. You will hear two of Schumanns Fantasiestücke, Op.12, followed by his Piano Quintet, Op.44 with Wolfram Brandl and Krzysztof Specjal (Violin), Yulia Deyneka (Viola) and Claudius Popp (Cello).

The “Moment Musical” concerts with Daniel Barenboim are presented in partnership with medici.tv and Mezzo and in collaboration with Pierre Boulez Saal, Berlin.
