This is the longplay of the game Mike Tyson's Punch-Out !!, fighting game released for the NES in 1987, being quite different from the Arcade version, released in 1984.

The Punch-Out series !! started in 1984, having been created by Genyo Takeda (producer of titles like Star Tropics and Pilot Wings) in partnership with Makoto Wada. In the original arcade, the player commands a generic boxer with no name and must go after weird and funny but charismatic boxers, and also had a version called Super Punch-Out !!, released as an upgrade.

In 1987, the challenge was to launch a homemade version of the game, so Genyo Takeda had the idea to increase the proportion of opponents and the character controlled by the player would be seen in a very small size in relation to the opponent. To compensate, the main character started to have a name and personality, Little Mac as he was baptized, perhaps due to the size reduction effect, he was a young man who dreamed of being a great boxing champion. He then went on to train with his great friend, Jerome “Doc” Louis, to try to win three championships and fight champion Mike Tyson. Yes, the game's marketing campaign was originally carried out by folk fighter Mike Tyson who was at the height of his boxing career. Unfortunately due to sex scandals that took the celebrated boxer to prison, Nintendo in 1990 made a re-release of the game with a fictional champion named Mr. Dream.

This is the version for the NES with Mike Tyson. An excellent game without a doubt, where a lot of strategy is needed to win the matches, because each opponent to be faced is unique. You need to know when to punch with your right or left hand, in addition to avoiding blows from opponents. Little Mac can also earn stars to deliver an extremely powerful and useful super punch, but which, like all elements of the game, needs to be managed at the right times.
