Inspired by the concept of "Erinnerung" (Memory) and the story of Engelbert Humperdinck and his sister Ernestine, the video clip is a call to answer the question 'how do we store and relive memories'? Is it nowadays a delegated action to technology or still a function that relies on the joint work of the senses and the brain? What is the meaning and value of time? Can we relive time through memories?

The composer Engelbert Humperdinck dedicated the beautiful piano piece “Erinnerung” (memory) to his beloved sister Ernestine, who a few years later died of tuberculosis at age 17. A tragic event for Humperdinck who felt very close to his sister and which gave the piece “Memory” an altogether different meaning of bliss passed. The piece was only discovered lately and the world premiere recording by Hinrich Alpers appears on “Homage to Humperdinck”, an album celebrating the composer 100 years after he died in 1921.
